Students Against Human Trafficking
As BU Students Against Human Trafficking, our mission is to raise awareness of the plight of these women and girls both in the US and internationally by hosting speakers and conducting fundraisers to support humanitarian organizations who aid victims all over the world. The goal of these organizations is to empower women and girls by providing better educational opportunities and financial assistance through agencies such as the Grameen Bank or Somaly Mam.
It is not enough to feel outrage or pity for these victims. Many women and children have been rescued or prevented from being enslaved in brothels thanks to organizations who are dedicated to their missions. We at BU are ready to do our part in assisting these organizations.

Global Awareness Project
The Global Awareness Project aims to promote and support non-profit organizations that are tackling issues of global concern.
The club was started in hopes of getting more BU students engaged in global problems and isnpire them to make a difference in the lives of each other. Through organizing events, fudnraising activities, and collaborating with other BU clubs, we hope to not only promote awareness of these issues around campus, but provide support for the causes and related organizations. This semester we are supporting Global Water: http://www.globalwater.org. "Global Water is an international, non-profit, humanitarian organization founded in 1982. We're focused on creating safe water supplies, sanitation facilities and hygiene-related facilities for rural villagers in developing countries. We beleive the lack of safe drinkign water and sanitation facilites are teh root causes of hunger, disease and poverty throughout the developing world."
